MoCRA, briefly
The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act is the biggest change to US cosmetic regulation since 1938, and most of it lands on the brand rather than the manufacturer, per the table above. A couple of things worth spelling out:
Registration renewal
Our facility registration under MoCRA is renewed on the required two-year cycle.
On GMP
MoCRA requires the FDA to establish mandatory cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices. That rule is still pending, and when it arrives it's expected to draw on existing frameworks including ISO 22716. We already manufacture under cGMP and to ISO 22716 guidelines, with certification in progress — so the rule shouldn't change how we operate.
We don't file product listings on our clients' behalf. We'll tell you what's needed and support the technical side, and label and marketing claim review is available at additional cost* — but the filing and the responsibility sit with the brand.
